You’ll want a trailer with a minimum 10,000 lb GVWR for most steel hauling, and a 1/2-ton or 3/4-ton truck with a weight distribution hitch or proper ball setup.

For moving shop equipment or heavy machinery, a 1-ton truck (F-350, Ram 3500) and an equipment trailer with a gooseneck connection will give you the most capacity.
